Our Community Came Together. Now, We're Doing It Again.

Last year, our community came together to make the first SNAP Back Against Hunger event possible. Through the generosity of local businesses, organizations, volunteers, and neighbors, we served approximately 350 households and distributed nearly 15,000 pounds of food.

What began as a response to uncertainty surrounding SNAP benefits became a powerful demonstration of what our community can accomplish when we work together.

While the circumstances that prompted last year's event have changed, food insecurity continues to affect families throughout our community. With rising grocery prices and the increasing cost of everyday essentials, many households are still struggling to make ends meet.

That's why Salina Area United Way is bringing SNAP Back Against Hunger back for another year!

What Families Can Expect

SNAP Back Against Hunger is a free community food and resource fair designed to connect families with food, essential supplies, and organizations offering additional support.

Families attending the event will have the opportunity to receive food and household essentials while connecting with local agencies and nonprofits that provide valuable community resources.

It takes an entire community to make an event like this possible. Whether you're an individual looking to volunteer, a business interested in collecting food, an organization providing community resources, or a company looking to sponsor the event, there's a place for you!

Volunteer

Give the gift of your time! Volunteers are essential to making SNAP Back Against Hunger successful. Opportunities are available for event preparation, food sorting, distribution, and other activities.

Volunteer shifts are available November 16 and 17, including daytime and evening opportunities.

Become a Food Collection Site

Local businesses, schools, churches, and organizations can help stock our community food distribution by collecting designated food items and essential supplies leading up to the event.

Sometimes families need more than groceries to find stability.

We're inviting local nonprofits, agencies, and community organizations to participate in our Community Resource Fair. This is an opportunity to connect directly with individuals and families who may benefit from the programs, services, and assistance your organization provides.
