The ALICE Simulation is an interactive experience that helps participants understand the financial challenges faced by many working families in our community. ALICE households receive income above the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), but not enough to afford basic cost of living.

Upcoming ALICE Simulation: High School Sophomore Experience
The Salina Area United Way will be hosting the ALICE Simulation for local high school sophomores on the following dates. During this experience, students will step into the role of a working individual or family and navigate a simulated month of real-life financial decisions while managing a monthly budget.
This hands-on experience helps students better understand the cost of living, the challenges faced by many working families, and how education and career choices connect to long-term financial stability.

Volunteer Opportunities
Community volunteers are needed to help facilitate the simulation by assisting at booths and guiding students through the experience. No prior experience is required — instructions and materials will be provided.
