Salina Area United Way is bringing SNAP Back Against Hunger back to the community on Tuesday, November 17, from 4–8 p.m. at Tony’s Pizza Events Center.
Launched in 2025 in response to uncertainty surrounding SNAP benefits, the inaugural event brought the community together to serve approximately 350 households and distribute nearly 15,000 pounds of food. While the circumstances that prompted the original event have changed, the need has not. Rising costs for groceries and everyday necessities continue to make it difficult for many local families to make ends meet.
This year, SNAP Back Against Hunger will once again provide groceries to participating families while connecting them with additional community resources and support. Hygiene products, hats and gloves will be available while supplies last, and Salina Area United Way is sponsoring Be the Village Boutique to provide warm, quality children’s clothing at no cost to families.
SNAP Back Against Hunger is truly a community effort, made possible by local businesses, organizations, donors, food collection sites, resource providers and volunteers coming together to support their neighbors.
