RAWR!

Raising Active Wild Readers (RAWR) is a Salina Area United Way summer reading program designed to help prevent the “Summer Slide” by encouraging children and teens to read throughout the summer.

Through a partnership with USD 305 Free Summer Meals, free books are available at grab-and-go meal sites. Children and youth ages 0–18 can select books to keep and begin building their own home libraries—promoting literacy, exploration, and a love of reading.

How You Can Help

We are currently collecting new or gently used books for youth ages 0–18. Your donations will help stock book stations at summer meal sites, putting engaging and age-appropriate books directly into the hands of young readers.
